The Four Seasons Resort in Costa Rica

Just an hour’s journey from Liberia’s Daniel Oduber Airport, The Four Seasons Resort is an ideal choice for many of Costa Rica’s international visitors.   Located on the pristine Papagayo Gulf, the resort and hotel overlooks sandy beaches and ocean from almost every angle from its enviable position on the peninsula where it stands.  It is sometimes referred to as The Four Seasons Liberia, or The Four Seasons Guanacaste; however the official name is Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo.

Accommodation
Guests can choose to stay in a room, suite or private residence within the resort; all of which receive twice daily room service and access to all facilities on the resort grounds.  Ocean or forest views are possible from almost all accommodation and guests speak of hearing the waves when they wake up.  The private residences and a number of suites have private pools.

Dining
As you would expect from such an oceanic setting, fresh fish features on the menu of the Italian influenced Di Mare restaurant where you can eat overlooking the sea. Less formal dining can be found at Papagayo which is a great place to start your day with the buffet breakfast, but offers continental cuisine throughout the day.  For a hearty evening meal, take the shuttle bus to the golf house where you can eat prime meat cuts at the Caracol and follow up with some homemade desserts.  Peckish after pool fun? The poolside restaurant and grill, Congo’s, can bring you tasty snacks or full meals, like sandwiches, salads or grilled local fish.

Cocktails and Latin music are the perfect evening combination and can be found at Tico’s nightly.

Relaxation
The Spa offers massage, scrubs and wraps for individual clients or as a couple experience.  Manicure and pedicure are available too.

Unwind and find inner calm with yoga or Pilates classes with trained instructor.

Plenty of Activity
For those who enjoy an active vacation, there are four pools, tennis courts, gym and fitness classes, like aerobics organized daily.  Water sports are an obvious option with an ocean on three sides!  Try sea kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving and/or surfing -- with equipment, lessons and trained staff to accompany you.

The highly rated golf course was designed by Arnold Palmer and is an experience for the golfer and wildlife enthusiast, as monkeys are frequently seen from the greens -- and not just the other players.  ;)  Lessons are available.

Kids and teens recreation and play areas and activities are provided.

Special Moments
If you are looking for that perfect romantic setting for your wedding, The Four Seasons can help you plan your day, make your guests comfortable and give you the honeymoon of your dreams.

Lend a Hand
If you want to give back to the community where you’re staying, the resort can offer a number of volunteer service programs within the area.

Explore!
The Four Seasons has so much to offer that you may well be content to remain there for the duration of your stay, but if you are itching to see what other wonders Costa Rica has to offer; just drive off on the open road!

The Santa Rosa National Park is a great day trip to walk the trails through dry tropical forest to an almost always empty beach and see the historical “La Casona” where an important battle was fought.  A day out to the Rincon de la Vieja National Park is a chance to visit a volcano, relax in its thermally heated hot springs and mud baths, swim in waterfalls and hike through the area.

Yet another nearby national park is Palo Verde where you can take a boat trip and admire the wonderful birdlife that inhabits this wetland.   The Tenorio National Park offers the breath-taking Rio Celeste (light blue river) as a reward for hiking through the park.  Tapirs have been seen here.

Las Pumas Wildlife Rescue Center offers you the chance to see many local animals and support the center helping them to recover and return to the wild.  As the name suggests, they sometimes have wild cat species in their care.  Local culture can be experienced at the town of Guatil where the indigenous Chorotega people may be seen making their pottery.

You need more adventure?  Try white water rafting or zip-lining for a real adrenaline rush!

The real Costa Rica is all around The Four Seasons and you can explore it all by simply hiring a car and enjoying the sights, sounds and tastes of the country at your own pace.
