Excellent Service from Your Employees

I want to tell you how happy I am with the service I received from Anibal and the driver who picked us up at the airport on Friday, the 22nd. They couldn't have been more polite and courteous.

I have rented from your company in the past and have every intention of continuing to do so upon our return to Costa Rica. Especially, when I know that I will get such excellent service from your employees.

Nothing But Praise

I have nothing but praise for your agency. It was a very good experience renting a car from Vamos.

Especially I would like to thank Tiziana for being so nice and helpful before and after our trip. I think that Vamos should be proud of her.

My booking agent Anibal was also very professional.

I am planning to rent from you in the future. I am a frequent visitor to CR because I own a house in [private]. 4x4 is a must because the last 8 Km of the trip is a steep climb on a dirt road to 750 meters above sea level.

I liked the Mitsubishi Montero Sport Diesel Automatic because it is big enough for some rough CR roads but has a good fuel economy. I also like the fact that the car had brand new tires. I felt very safe driving in the rain and on some steep mountain roads, like the road Dominical to San Isidro.

I plan to reserve the same car for my next trip in December/January.

There were some minor defects in the interior. I pointed them out to Tiziana and hope they will be easy to fix.

Overall I give Vamos 5 stars.

Anibal Truly Made Our Car Rental Experience Very Pleasant

I felt compelled to write to you, the general manager, about Anibal Morales at your Liberia location.

We rented an SUV from Vamos recently (6/9-6/16) for one week and dealt with Anibal exclusively through the whole process. His professionalism & courtesy are the best in the business; his responses were always prompt and he went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied with our rental. His customer service skills surpassed our expectations!

Now, I would like to add a suggestion for your website. When I was shopping around for a car rental agency, I visited your website & was pleased to see that each of your vehicles displayed the amount of passengers it would accommodate and the amount of luggage. However, upon further questioning, I found out that this information is somewhat misleading. Originally, I had requested a compact 4x4 SUV. I asked Anibal about this because I was traveling with my family (4 adults) & we had 4 large suitcases. I was told the Suzuki Jimny would not accommodate all 4 of us with our luggage, even though the picture on the website shows 4 passengers & 3 suitcases. My suggestion to you would be to clarify this information on your website so that families can choose an appropriate rental.

Please give our regards to Anibal, he truly made our car rental experience in Costa Rica a very pleasant one. If we find ourselves in Costa Rica again, we will certainly be renting from Vamos once more!

First and foremost thank you for taking the time to express your opinion in regards to Anibal. It is a rewarding to read that you felt that Anibal was very professional and forthcoming. We are indebted to Anibal for his tireless efforts to represent our company in the most positive light. We do show him our appreciation and expect that he will continue to be an invaluable asset to our company.

In regards to your suggestion. You are absolutely correct, the information on the amount of passengers and suitcases may be incorrectly perceived. We are currently re-designing our website. The new version of the \"Cars & Rates\" page will have a disclaimer that the number of suitcases that the car can hold is an inverse relationship to the number of vehicle occupants. That is, if there are 4 adults (as an example) the number of luggage is significantly reduced. We have already taken number of suitcases out of our print material, preferring instead to have clients confirm the capacity based on occupants. Your advice has not fallen and deaf ears.

I do appreciate your input. It is because of suggestions like yours that allow us to grow.

When you decide to return to Costa Rica, please send me an email so that I can personally (with the assistance of Anibal) take care of your reservation.

Sold on Vamos Primarily as a Result of Our Interactions with Tiziana

Dear George,

I want to take this opportunity to write to you regarding one of your employees, Tiziana Sambucci.

I was referred to Vamos (along with several other rental car agencies) through contacts at International Living when planning my first trip to Costa Rica in 2011. After carefully researching rates on-line, I settled on Vamos as the most competitive at that time.

I emailed a query and the reply was from Tiziana. It was evident from the first reply that she was a true customer service representative. And, when we arrived at SJO everything went smoothly. She remembered who I was and handled all of the paperwork expeditiously, cheerfully answered all of our questions (and there were a lot) and gave us explicit map directions.

I had the occasion to call her during this trip when my mother died and again Tiziana expedited our returning the rental earlier than planned and making a difficult time much easier.

We returned to Costa Rica several months later and if not for Tiziana we might have chosen another rental agency on our second trip just to compare. However, we continued with Vamos for our rental 4x4 with a repeat of the same customer care from Tiziana as mentioned above.

Needless to say, by this time we were sold on Vamos primarily as a result of our interactions with Tiziana. During this trip we had some issues with the rental and she arranged for us to get a replacement the next day although the car had to be driven to Arenal from San Jose. Tiziana really is an exemplary employee and excellent representative for Vamos in every regard.

I know from my own years of dealing with the public that most people only write when they are dissatisfied and excellent service often goes unsung, thus this letter. While we now have heard great things about you, it is safe to say that without our interactions with Tiziana, they wouldn’t have had the same effect.

All the Times We've Been to Costa Rica, This Car Rental was the Most Pleasurable

Good morning,

Anibal was wonderful with helping us with all my questions and concerns, I can not say enough praise to tell you that Anibal is a great asset to Vamos 4x4, we did not have the pleasure to meet him as he is in Liberia, but all his help with my emails were always polite and helpful.

The car was perfect, no problems whatsoever.  It was exactly what we asked for, thanks to Anibal. Alex drove us back to the airport in San Jose and he was very polite also.

I must say with all the times we have been to Costa Rica, this car rental was the most pleasurable.  We were treated quickly and professionally on the pickup and on the return and that makes a big difference. 

I would recommend Vamos4x4 to everyone I know headed your way.

If I could make one constructive suggestion it would be to make sure that your GPS units are reset to “default” settings upon return.  The GPS unit that we had was set to allow “unpaved” roads and “use shortest distance”.  Both of these setting can cause the GPS to select very poor routes in Costa Rica!
