Impressed by Maintenance

Our rental 4x4 ran excellent and I was impressed how well it was taken care of.

Only thing was the gps was very slow to connect when turned on but I realize that may have been due to the area we were visiting which is not a common tourist destination.

Previously Rented from Another Company, Paid Hundreds More For Less of a Car

Rented from another company on a previous trip, paid hundreds more for less of a vehicle.

Had a minor issue with rental, called customer service for help, sent someone out immediately.

Great support from call centre, just booked for my trip in Aug.

Totally Awesome experience!!!!

I just returned from Costa Rica and must pass on what *AWESOME* customer service Vamos has.

This Mom and Pop company is a must if you are planing on renting a car while in CR. Do not listen to others who discourage the use of small Mom and Pop companies... Vamos went above and beyond when it came to our rental. From our first impression we could of not been any pleased.

We dealt with Max who promptly picked us up at the Sansa terminal and took us to their office to complete paperwork. Once all the paperwork was done and we did a walk around the rental that is when they informed us that they upgraded us to a larger SUV and even included a cooler...Total awesome surprise!!!!

With our rental we received a prepaid cell phone for emergencies and a GPS that had every waypoint you could ever want including the alerts for those sneeky speed bumps and red light cameras.

One more thing that goes to show you how awesome they are... While driving back to our hotel one night I hit the front of the SUV against a tree while making a turn and caused a small dent. Needless to say I was a tad bit concerned of how this was going to be handled upon our returning of the car, but I could of not been more wrong... Since we had the full coverage it was nothing to it... I filled out the paperwork which took about 5 min and that was it... No hidden hassles!!!!

This was our third time in CR and prior we had used Thrifty and Hertz... Why we did not go with Vamos before I truly do not know, but from now on we will strictly use them...

We had a FANTASTIC time this trip. We rented a great house with a beautiful pool, on a jungle mountain side in Playa Chiquita. Parrots, sloths & toucans were hanging out literally meters from us while we swam or napped. It was amazing. Like a dream.

I do want to tell you all how great the vehicle, staff and service was from Vamos. There was a mix up on our arrival (that was 100% my fault) and everyone still did all they could to make it right. And they did a great job making it right. We could not be more pleased with everything from reservation to drop off. Thank you, everyone!

Would Rent from Vamos Again

We enjoyed our trip to Costa Rica very much.

Our experience with Vamos was good. The 4x4 we rented gave us no problems during our stay. It handled the entry drive to our rented house in Uvita well.

The rental agent in San Jose was very helpful and efficient, providing maps and directions for us. We would rent from Vamos again.

Service at Its Best

This is my second time using Vamos.

The first time was excellent and this time was also top notch.

Our pickup was there with a sign the minute we left customs. Took us right to the car and to the office. Sorry I am so terrible with names, but the manager at the office is very efficient and helpful. Explains everything. Signed the papers and we were on our way.

On return it was also quick, and no stress, ran us to the airport and dropped us off.

Here is where your service came in. My wife looks at me while filling out paper work for customs and says, "I think I left my camera in the car". I still am not worried, "Don't worry, they will mail it to us I am sure". She was upset at possibly losing all her pictures and camera. Within another couple minutes, here rushes up the manager from Vamos, and gives her the camera. He had turned around and searched us out to return her camera. Now that is service at its best.

We will continue to recommend your company and will surely use it again in the future (although not soon enough for me).

Nothing but Good Things to Say

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Vamos.

At the end of my trip I was in a tough spot and Fanny went out of her way to help me and it made my travels so much easier.

When I returned the car everyone was very nice and helpful as well.

I have received the car at my working place as we have said. Alex was very helpful and nice and show me everything about the car. We had everything we have asked for.

I liked a lot the fact of having a cooler, it was very handy. Also, having a cellphone available to call you guys in case something happen to us, was very nice. We did not need to use it but it felt good just to know that you got our back.

Tiziana was also very very nice! Always answering our e-mails very fast and giving us the best available options for our needs.

I gave back the car yesterday and it was fast and easy. Later a very nice man brought me home. It is so comfortable to have the option to receive and give back the car wherever you are, just by paying some extra dollars.

I have made a reservation for a car for the last weekend of April which I am going to keep because I really like your services.

Very Positive Experience with Vamos

I had a very positive experience with Vamos. The 4x4 was great, the cooler and phone were great, the service was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. I would recommend you without hesitation.

I was scammed at a gas station in Alajuela before returning the 4x4, and your driver offered to take me to the gas station to help sort it out (I declined, but it was a generous and appreciated offer).

The only constructive comment I can think of is that the map you provided seemed a little out of date. In particular, it did not seem to have the new highway from Caldera to San Jose (Hwy 27, I believe).

Other than that, I can't think of any other suggestions. We were really happy!

Strongly Advise\Encourage Vacationers to Get the GPS

We had a good experience with the rental car and were glad that we decided to try driving ourselves while in Costa Rica; however, the experience would have been very different if we did not rent the GPS unit with the car. You should strongly advise\encourage vacationers to get the GPS.

We were met at the San Jose airport and delivered to the Liberia airport without any problems.

My only complaint is that the San Jose office was extremely slow in getting us into our rental car; the person helping us was also taking phone calls and helping other people.

It would also be nice to have a set of directions onto the Pan-American highway from the SJ office.

Nothing But the Highest Praise for Our Vamos4x4 Rental Experience

All contact with the staff at the Liberia Vamos4x4 was courteous, professional and helpful. Emails were answered very quickly prior to arriving in Liberia. Service was prompt, professional and courteous with airport pickup and delivery to the Vamos4x4 office.

Anibal was exceptionally helpful in all regards: setting up the rental via the internet, helping with vacation choices and during rental care and attention. I can only say he is a valuable asset to your company.

A story:

Due to an error on my part, I had occasion to call Anibal on a Saturday night for help and assistance. Despite it being Saturday night, Anibal had a mechanic look at my vehicle within ½ hour and, just in case, he had a replacement car on its way. The error was found and remedied and it was totally my fault; the mechanic and Anibal talked extensively so Anibal was comfortable that the problem had been fixed. I then talked to Anibal, who was careful to make sure I was ok with the fix and the process of evaluating. I was certainly impressed with the focus and dedication to customer service that Anibal and his crew displayed that evening, despite it being a Saturday night!

I have nothing but the highest praise for our Vamos4x4 rental experience. In addition, the vehicle worked well and was clean on delivery.

We intend on returning to Costa Rica, we will definitely rent from Vamos the next time.

The free phone with the rental was a huge plus and it did come in handy when we couldn't find our hotel late at night.

We were extremely pleased at the customer service provided and the competitive rate.

Tiziana was very helpful throughout the process. She answered all our questions regarding insurance, rates and even recommended a hotel nearby. Always promptly responded to our emails.

The car performed well and gave us no problems. We did however, report to the office that the air conditioning was weak in the vehicle.

The cooler provided was a great bonus and we were appreciative of being taken back to the hotel.

We had a very good experience renting from Vamos and would do it again.

An Exceptionally Good Rental Experience

We were very happy with our rental experience with Vamos Rent-A-Car. The customer service in the Liberia Branch was extraordinarily good.

Anibal Morales, who was in charge of our rental, was friendly and polite, resourceful and knowledgeable, and made us feel that we were in very good hands from the moment we made the rental. During the booking process, the car pickup, the handling of a mechanical problem in the original car, and the return of the car, he was exceptionally helpful and informative. It was very reassuring when he gave us his cell phone number in case we needed anything after hours. It is no exaggeration to say that Anibal Morales was the most helpful car rental agent we have worked with in any country, and a great pleasure to do business with.

During our trip to Arenal the car stalled a few times. We phoned Anibal Morales, who discussed the situation with us, and promptly offered a replacement vehicle.

We would like to give high praise to the mechanic, whose name we did not catch. He rose at four a.m. to bring a replacement vehicle to our hotel, arriving at our hotel just before eight. He checked the rental car thoroughly, found that there was some problem with the brake shoes, and gave us the replacement vehicle. He was very helpful and pleasant.

We remarked after returning the car that this had been an exceptionally good rental experience. We are happy to be able to give this feedback.
